Hi,
My name is Madhu Sameer. I have a very complex background, and if you ask me where I am from, I would not be able to tell. I grew up during the sixties, and seventies in the city of Taj Mahal, Agra, in India. In fact, most of my childhood was spent a few hundred meters from the Taj Mahal, where my grandfather worked in a then small office on the East Gate of Taj Mahal, having been promoted to the position of the Director of Archeological Survey of India. Their office was responsible for the Taj Mahal. So, as a child, Taj Mahal felt almost like personal property that happened to have been thrown open to the public also.
I am sixty now, and the journey thru life has been interesting, to say the least. As I stare at mortality without flinching, I have been inspired by Dylan Thomas. I have decided not to go gentle in that good night. And this, my dear visitors, is an effort to make lemonade from the lemons that life threw at me.
The third memoir of the pentalogy, The California Files, has been the most challenging to craft and edit. Hopefully, it will be published by mid 2023, quickly followed by the rest soon thereafter.
Meanwhile, I hope this website does its bit to create curiosity and anticipation.
